Exploration of the strange interplay of nature and abandonment. In the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, old hospitals and mental institutions are often left abandoned as if the patients and workers merely left one afternoon and never returned. From the furniture and lamps, to x-rays, patient records, and medical supplies everything is left behind in place. Over the years, nature begins to take back the land, looters pull the scrap metal out of the walls, and the homeless find shelter in them.
